Currently I am trying to re-write a manuscript on the dragonfly optic lobe that I originally wrote in 2016, analyse and write up dragonfly wing mechanosensory data from my first postdoc in 2018, while still making satisfactory progress on my new project on hoverfly vision. It certainly makes you miss those days in your PhD where you had a single project with a well defined goal, and nothing to get you side-tracked from that work. Maybe one day with more experience my brain will be able to switch between topics a little quicker.
I really love having broad research interests and knowledge, but I am really looking forward to being able to close off these other projects and being able to go full steam ahead with a project without distraction.
Joseph.
